Ethnografilm Festival

International film festival

2024 March, Paris, France

'AJAW Q'IJ' by Chiara Faggionato and IQ BALAM will be screened as part of Ethnografilm.

The 2024 festival will be held March 29 – 31 at Club De L’Etoile, at 14 Rue Troyon near the Arc de Triomphe. There are four sessions each day (beginning at 1pm, 3:30, 6pm, and 8:30). The moderators for each day are Robin Starbuck (Friday), Matt Harsh (Saturday) and Greg Scott (Sunday).

Ethnografilm seeks to enhance our understanding of the social world through film. From the 28th through the 31st of March 2024 in Paris, France, the festival features over 100 works by documentary and academic filmmakers.

We celebrate the art and science of non-fiction filmmaking and promote the field of video ethnography, serving as a showcase for work and forum for dialog between independent and academic documentary filmmakers.

Marked by its contemporary relevance and broad intellectual range, the objective of Ethnografilm is to promote the examination of cultures as well as social issues, describing “patterns of living” throughout the world to educate and entertain.

We honor passion in the acquisition of moving images.  We encourage creativity in the editing of those images.  And we revere the spirit of both academic and independent filmmakers whose exhibitions expand our knowledge and increase our understanding of the social world.

Ethnografilm is sponsored by the  International Science Council (ISC).
